My Asana Consulting & Training Process
Every engagement begins with a Discovery Session. This is where I learn more about your organization and what you want to achieve with Asana. It helps shape what follows.
From there, the work moves through two phases: design and training. In the design phase, I work with you to shape Asana around the way your organization works. Training comes next, and it's far more effective once that foundation is in place.
Phase 1: Design & Build
I work with a small group from your organization to clarify how work gets done and shape Asana to support it. Together, we:
Define and refine your workflows
Structure teams and projects to mirror how your organization is set up
Establish consistent naming and colour-coding conventions
Create reusable templates for recurring work
Configure custom fields and views to keep status and priorities clear
Use Portfolios to track related projects in one place
Put Asana's AI features to work where they add value
The design takes into account the services you already use, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Slack. I'll help set up these integrations so Asana works smoothly alongside them.
The result is an Asana system that fits the way your organization works.
Phase 2: Training
Once your Asana system is in place, I train the people who'll be using it day to day.
Training covers Asana's key features and how to work within the structure and conventions established in Phase 1. It also helps motivate people to use Asana by highlighting the positive impact Asana can have on their work and your organization.
This typically takes place over two sessions.
Training Session 1 (typically two hours) introduces Asana's key concepts and features and how to use them in the context of each person's role. It also covers why Asana is often more effective than email or chat for managing work.
Training Session 2 (typically 90 minutes) goes deeper into features and recommended practices, including how Asana works with your other tools, and leaves room for questions specific to your organization.
Sessions can be recorded for internal use.
